The Freedom That Forgiveness Brings (Part 1)

When we become THE FORGIVER a host of freedoms happen in our lives.

When we no longer harbor resentment for the person who hurt or harmed us; we are not shackled by those negative emotions or reactions.

Once we make the choice to forgive we see things that blinded us before.

Our eyes become open to the benefits of letting go.

1)FREEDOM TO RECEIVE FORGIVENESS

The scripture reads: if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Matthew 6:15)

2)FREEDOM TO TRADE CONTEMPT FOR CONCERN

When we stop believing that a person is worthy of our scorn and start abiding by the scripture: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you. (Ephesians 4:32) then we are able to show concern and compassion for others.

3)FREEDOM TO TRADE RESENTMENT FOR CONTENTMENT

When we release those feelings that are not fruitful for our Christian growth as noted in Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:- then we are free to rest in the truth of the word and flourish.
